Events are existing events hosted by other clubs and organisations that you want to create awareness for. A charity cycle, an open race or a league race season are classed as events, among many other types. Here you can create an event that you feel might interest other members as a means of creating awareness that will hopefully lead to an enjoyable day out cycling somewhere around the country.
Anyone that is registered on this website can create events.
All public events need to be approved by an admin. This is primarily a spam prevention process. Private events are automatically approved on creation. However, will need to be approved if made public.
A public event is an event you can create to create awareness for yourself and other members. Everyone you invite or anyone that marks the event as 'Going' or 'Interested' will receive notifications about this event as the date of the event draws near, provided the user allows event notifications via their account notification settings.
A private event is an event you can create for your own personnal awareness. Only you will receive notifications about this event as the date of the event draws near.
While creating an event you can invite other members. An invite is simply an email notification that is sent to notify each invited member of the event. Once an event is approved and active anyone can invite additional members if not already invited.
Invited or not, you can mark any event as 'Going' or 'Interested'. The benefit of doing this is, you'll receive email notifications about the event as the date of the event draws near.
Thats fine! You can disable event notifications via your account settings >> email notifications
